How Your Price Is Determined
Tier is determined by case complexity. The number of teeth requiring movement, depth of bite correction needed, whether extractions are planned, and the predicted treatment duration. Simpler cases finish faster and sit in the lower tier; comprehensive adult cases with bite correction and longer duration sit in the higher tier. The exact tier for your case is assigned at the free consultation after the 3D scan and clinical exam.

How Limestone Hills Prices Aligner Treatment
Limestone Hills prices treatment below the Austin market average. Metal braces start at $4,000 comprehensive, with SmartArch wire included at no additional charge for every braces patient. Dr. Viecilli sets prices to reflect the science behind the treatment, not what the local market can be persuaded to pay.
Which Clear Aligner Brand Limestone Hills Prefers. And Why
Limestone Hills offers Invisalign as the primary aligner system and Angel Aligners as a more affordable second option because no single aligner brand is the right fit for every patient or budget. Invisalign carries the longest clinical track record and the deepest treatment-planning toolset; Angel Aligners deliver comparable precision at a lower lab cost because the company distributes only through orthodontists, not general dentists. Angel Pro specifically uses a two-stage tray for each step: a softer tray begins the movement and primes the periodontal ligament, then a firmer tray completes the movement once the tissue is responsive. Most other aligner systems (Invisalign included) use a single tray per step. The two-tray approach reduces the patient discomfort spike at each switch and gives Dr. Viecilli more reliable tracking on cases where compliance or biology is borderline.

All-Inclusive Aligner Treatment – No Hidden Fees
Every price above includes everything the patient needs from day one through the end of active treatment. The fee on the contract is the fee the family pays.
Refinements, Retainers, and Switching Treatments
For aligner cases estimated at more than 12 months at consultation, Limestone Hills includes two refinement rounds at no additional charge. Refinements are additional aligner trays produced after the initial series finishes, used to fine-tune the final tooth positions.
Most cases finish within the original aligner series; the included refinements ensure the result holds when biology responds slightly differently than the digital plan predicted. Refinement rounds are also covered for shorter cases when the original treatment goal has not been achieved within 6 weeks of the final tray.
If a case starts in Invisalign or Angel Aligners and the compliance or biology turns out to require fixed appliances instead, Limestone Hills switches the patient to braces without re-charging the comprehensive fee. The aligner investment to that point is credited toward the braces case.
The reverse switch (braces to aligners) is also possible, though less common; it usually applies to adult patients who find brackets uncomfortable in client-facing roles after the first few weeks. Switching is a clinical decision, not a billing event.
The first set of Essix retainers is included in every Invisalign or Angel Aligners case fee at Limestone Hills. The retainer is fabricated in-house on the same 3D model used for the final aligner setup, then thermoformed and fitted within 1 to 2 weeks after the last aligner tray.
Vivera or Angel retainers can be ordered as an upgrade ($350 per arch for Vivera, $400 per arch for Angel) at the patient’s preference. Same-day in-house Essix replacements are $150 per arch when the original 3D model is on file (which it is for every Limestone Hills aligner patient).
Out-of-Contract Costs – Priced Separately, Disclosed in Writing
Two categories of cost are not covered by the all-inclusive aligner fee: comfort and emergency visits for non-contracted patients, and transfer cases starting mid-treatment from another practice. Both are priced in writing at the consultation, so there are no surprises.

Why Choose Limestone Hills Over a Cheaper Office?
What patients receive at Limestone Hills for the published fee: a PhD orthodontist who co-invented the SmartArch wire used in their treatment, a free 3D CBCT scan at consultation (other Austin offices charge $200 to $500 for the same scan), the same doctor present at every adjustment visit, and a privately-owned practice with no corporate chain or rotating-associate model behind the chair.
Limestone Hills publishes the actual fee with full transparency. No unreasonable bracket-breakage charges, no hidden add-ons, no surprise costs. Cheaper alternatives exist in the Austin market, but few combine clinical research depth, advanced diagnostic imaging, continuity of care, and transparent pricing under one roof.

Why Mail-Order Aligners Are Not Worth the Savings
Mail-order aligners are orthodontics without orthodontics. There is no clinical exam, no records, no three-dimensional imaging, no in-person doctor. The tray itself is just plastic. The result comes from what a trained specialist does with it. Dr. Viecilli has seen mail-order patients in his office with open bites that were not there before, with root resorption that shows up on CBCT, and with bite problems that cost more to fix than orthodontic treatment would have cost in the first place. If a patient cannot afford standard orthodontics, the answer is OrthoSync at $149 a month, not a mail-order kit.
